Proponents of alternative ADHD treatments are taking great interest in a new fish oil study by Dr. Sven Ostlund of Sweden's Goteborg University.

The study, which followed a group of 8- to 18-year-old children with attention deficit disorder, found that taking a fish-oil supplement each day can reduce ADHD symptoms by half. Within six months of starting the study, Dr. Ostlund notes a reduction in symptoms for 25 percent of the children. By the end, half the children were experiencing increased focus and control.
