A new study from the Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital in Taiwan confirms something ADDers know well--that attention deficit is associated with Internet addiction. But it also reveals a new tidbit: Women with ADD are more vulnerable to Internet addiction than men. In addition, the study examined which ADD symptom was responsible for the Internet addiction--inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity. Results showed that inattention was most often associated, followed by impulsivity. The study was based on self-reported data from nearly 3,000 college students in Taiwan.
