Olympic gold medalist and ADDer Michael Phelps has been honored as Sports Illustrated's 2008 Sportsman of the Year. He is the first swimmer to earn the title, thanks to his Olympic record of eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics earlier this year. He has won fourteen gold medals in total, more than any other Olympian in history. Phelps' story has been an inspiration to many children with attention deficit disorder, proving that an ADHD diagnosis does not have to limit achievement and success.
