Maladaptive Social Coping Strategies in Boys with ADHD

A new study suggests that boys with ADHD may have impaired social styles.

Researchers in Germany and Austria have found that, when compared with boys who do not have ADHD, boys with ADHD show maladaptive coping strategies in interpersonal situations. The study also suggests that boys with ADHD and conduct disorders have even more impaired social skills than those boys with ADHD alone.

The study implies the importance of stress management and social skills training as part of therapy for boys with ADHD.
