Teens and Tweens with ADHD
A study completed recently by researchers from The Royal Alexandria Hospital for Children in Australia and Guangxi Medical University in China found a strong negative correlation between duration of sleep and ADHD tendencies in teens in China. These results suggest that fewer hours of sleep are associated with ADHD symptoms, although causation was not assessed. It also has implications for doctors--suggesting that sleep disturbances and lack of sleep be assessed when evaluating a patient who may potentially have ADHD. |
