Houston Man to Compete in Ironman in Honor of ADDitude's Founder

Michael Mahlstedt will compete in the Coeur d'Alene Ironman in memory of Ellen Kingsley, who founded ADDitude magazine in 2000.

Wednesday June 13th - 1:39pm

Houston resident Michael Mahlstedt will compete in an Ironman competition in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on June 23 in honor of close family friend Ellen Kingsley. Kingsley, the talented and caring founder of ADDitude, passed away on March 8 after a 20 year fight against cancer. Under the sponsorship of his employers, John Daugherty Realtors, Mahlstedt hopes to raise $10,000 in Kingsley's memory, benefiting the Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation.

This will be Mahlstedt's second Ironman competition. The grueling triathlon includes a 2.4-mile swim followed by a 112-mile bike ride, rounded off with a full 26.2-mile marathon.
