ADDitude Establishes the Ellen Kingsley Award for ADHD Advocacy

Announcing the creation of an annual award honoring those who effectively advance understanding of ADD/ADHD.

Friday March 30th - 3:56pm

ADDitude founder Ellen Kingsley’s goal was nothing less than to change the perception in our culture about attention-deficit disorder. “Brain-based disorders make us uncomfortable,” she wrote. “We seem to believe and embrace suffering only when problems are visible physically. It’s time to end the stigma that leads to a psychiatric disorder like ADHD being seen as weak will and moral failure instead of the neurobiological and treatable condition that it is.”

To honor Kingsley’s work and spirit in the years to come, ADDitude is pleased to announce the Ellen Kingsley Award for Effective ADHD Advocacy. Each year, the Kingsley Award will be given to the person or organization whose contributions most effectively advance the understanding of attention deficit disorder.
